Chapter on what is reported regarding the impotent man
Hadith Number: 2019
نا نا هشيم، نا حجاج، عن عمرو بن شعيب، عن ابيه، عن جده، ان عمرو بن العاص ، كتب إلى عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه في مسلسل خيف على امراته قال:" يؤجل سنة، فإن نزا، وإلا فرق بينهما" .
Hazrat Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote a letter to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that there is a danger in the matter of a sick person, so Sayyiduna Umar replied: "A respite of one year should be given, then if they become intimate, it is fine, otherwise separation should be done."

Hadith Number: 2020
نا نا سفيان، نا ابو إسحاق، عن هانئ بن هانئ، قال: كنت عند علي بن ابي طالب رضي الله عنه، فقامت إليه امراة، فقالت له: هل لك إلى امراة لا ايم، ولا ذات زوج؟ قال:" فاين زوجك؟" قالت: هو في القوم، فقام شيخ يجنح، فقال: ما تقول هذه المراة؟ قال: سلها هل تنقم من مطعم او ثياب؟ فقال علي:" فما من شيء" قال: لا، قال: ولا من السحر، قال: ولا من السحر، قال: هلكت واهلكت، قالت: فرق بيني وبينه، قال:" اصبري، فإن الله لو شاء ابتلاك باشد من ذلك" .
Hani bin Hani (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that I was with Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), when a woman came and said: "I am neither a widow nor married." So Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) called the husband, asked about the matter, and said: "Be patient, if Allah wills, the trial could have been even more severe."

نا نا هشيم، انا ابن عون، عن ابن سيرين، ان عمر بن الخطاب بعث رجلا على بعض السعاية، فتزوج امراة، وكان عقيما، فلما قدم على عمر ذكر له ذلك، فقال:" هل اعلمتها انك عقيم؟" قال: لا، قال:" فانطلق فاعلمها ثم خيرها" .
Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Whoever married a woman and did not inform her of his infertility, he should go and inform the woman and give her the choice."
