Sunan Saeed bin Mansur
كِتَابُ الطَّلَاقِ
Book of Divorce
بَابُ مَنْ أَعْسَرَ مِنَ الْعِتْقِ فَصَامَ بَعْضَ مَا وَجَبَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَيْسَرَ
Chapter on one who was unable to free a slave, so he fasted part of what was required, then became able
Hadith Number: 2111
نا هشيم، انا يونس، عن الحسن، انه كان يقول فيمن كان عليه رقبة من ظهار فلم يجد رقبة، فصام شهرا او نحو ذلك، ثم ايسر قال:" ينقض الصوم ويعتق"، ثم قال بعد ذلك:" يبني على صومه ولا يعتق" .
Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Whoever does not find a slave for the expiation of zihar and fasts, then becomes wealthy, he should leave the fast and free a slave." Later he said: "He should complete the fast and not free a slave."

Hadith Number: 2112
نا هشيم، انا مغيرة، عن إبراهيم، انه كان يقول: " إذا ايسر قبل ان يفرغ من الصوم ترك الصوم، ووجب عليه العتق" .
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If he becomes wealthy before completing the fasts, he should leave the fasting and free a slave."
