بَابُ الزَّوْجِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ يَخْتَلِفَانِ فِي الصَّدَاقِ
Chapter on husband and wife disagreeing about the dowry
Hadith Number: 2113
نا هشيم، انا الشيباني، عن الشعبي، قال: " إذا اختلف الزوج والمراة في الصداق، فالقول قول الزوج مع يمينه، والبينة على المراة" . قال الشيباني: ونا حماد، عن إبراهيم، انه كان يقول:" القول قولها فيما بينها وبين صداق مثلها". قال هشيم: القول ما قال الشعبي.
Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If the husband and wife disagree about the dowry, the husband's statement will be accepted with an oath, and the woman will be required to provide evidence." Shaibani said: "According to the statement of Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him), the woman's statement will be accepted if it is in accordance with the customary dowry."
