بَابُ مَنْ قَالَ: لَا يُسْهَمُ لِلْبَرَاذِينِ
Chapter on those who said: No share for mules
Hadith Number: 2777
نا عبد الله بن وهب، قال: انا عمرو بن الحارث، ان بكيرا حدثه، ان سليمان بن يسار اخبره، ان مالك بن عبد الله الخثعمي كلم في سهمان الهجن، فقال: " لا اسهم له إنما السهم للفرس العربي" .
Sulaiman bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When Malik bin Abdullah Khath'ami was asked about the share of mule-bred horses, he said: "I will not assign a share to a mule-bred horse; the share is only for an Arab horse."

نا عبد الله بن وهب، قال: اخبرني عمرو بن الحارث، ان بكيرا، حدثه، عن سليمان بن يسار، ان ابنة قرظة امراة معاوية بن ابي سفيان ارسلت إلى مالك بن عبد الله ان يجيز، عجينا لمولى لهم في المقاسم، فلما عرضه، قال:" تريدوني على ان اجيز هذا؟ لا اجيزه ابدا" .
Sulaiman bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Bint Qurazah, who was the wife of Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with them both), sent a recommendation to Malik bin Abdullah for her slave to be given a share of a mule-bred horse. When the horse was presented, he said: "Are you forcing me to approve this? I will never approve it."
