Sahih Ibn Hibban
كِتَابُ العِلْمِ
Book of Knowledge
ذكر الزجر عن العلم بأمر الدنيا مع الانهماك فيها والجهل بأمر الآخرة ومجانبة أسبابها-
Warning against seeking worldly knowledge while neglecting the hereafter.
Hadith Number: 72
اخبرنا احمد بن محمد بن الحسن ، قال: حدثنا احمد بن يوسف السلمي ، قال: اخبرنا عبد الرزاق ، قال: اخبرنا عبد الله بن سعيد بن ابي هند ، عن ابيه ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" إن الله يبغض كل جعظري جواظ سخاب بالاسواق، جيفة بالليل، حمار بالنهار، عالم بامر الدنيا، جاهل بامر الآخرة" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“Indeed, Allah Almighty dislikes every harsh-natured, arrogant, miserly person who shouts in the markets, who sleeps at night like a corpse, and spends the day like a donkey. He is knowledgeable about worldly matters, but ignorant about the Hereafter.”
