باب ما جاء في الطاعات وثوابها - ذكر البيان بأن محمدة الناس للمرء وثناءهم عليه إنما هو بشراه في الدنيا
Chapter on Acts of Obedience and Their Rewards – People’s praise for someone is a sign of glad tidings in this world.
Hadith Number: 367
اخبرنا عبد الله بن قحطبة ، قال: حدثنا احمد بن المقدام ، قال: حدثنا حماد بن زيد ، عن ابي عمران الجوني ، عن عبد الله بن الصامت ، عن ابي ذر ، قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، ارايت الرجل يعمل العمل من الخير يحمده الناس؟ قال:" ذلك بشرى المؤمن" .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is your opinion about a person who does a good deed and people praise him for it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This is the glad tidings given to a believer."
