باب الإخلاص وأعمال السر - ذكر الإخبار عما يجب على المرء من إصلاح النية وإخلاص العمل في كل ما يتقرب به إلى الباري
Chapter on Sincerity and Secret Deeds – One must correct his intention and be sincere in all acts of worship.
Hadith Number: 392
اخبرنا محمد بن احمد بن عبيد بن فياض بدمشق، قال: حدثنا هشام بن عمار ، قال: حدثنا صدقة بن خالد ، قال: حدثنا ابن جابر، قال: حدثنا ابو عبد رب ، قال: سمعت معاوية ، على المنبر، يقول: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول:" إنما العمل كالوعاء، إذا طاب اعلاه، طاب اسفله، وإذا خبث اعلاه، خبث اسفله" .
Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said from the pulpit: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The example of deeds is like that of a vessel; if its upper part is clean, then the lower part will also be clean, and if the upper part is dirty, then the lower part will also be dirty."
