باب حق الوالدين - ذكر الاستحباب للمرء أن يؤثر بر الوالدين على الجهاد النفل في سبيل الله
Chapter on Parents’ Rights – It is recommended to prefer honoring parents over voluntary jihad.
Hadith Number: 420
اخبرنا ابو خليفة ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن كثير العبدي ، قال: اخبرنا سفيان ، عن حبيب بن ابي ثابت ، عن ابي العباس وهو السائب بن فروخ ، عن عبد الله بن عمرو ، قال: جاء رجل إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: يا رسول الله اجاهد؟ قال:" لك ابوان؟"، قال: نعم، قال:" ففيهما فجاهد" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He said: O Messenger of Allah! I want to participate in jihad. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked: Do you have parents? He replied: Yes. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Then serve both of them wholeheartedly.
