باب حق الوالدين - ذكر البيان بأن إدخال المرء السرور على والديه في أسبابه يقوم مقام جهاد النفل
Chapter on Parents’ Rights – Bringing joy to one’s parents is equivalent to voluntary jihad.
Hadith Number: 419
اخبرنا احمد بن يحيى بن زهير الحافظ السراد بتستر، قال: حدثنا محمد بن معمر البحراني ، قال: حدثنا روح بن عبادة ، قال: حدثنا ابن جريج ، وسفيان الثوري ، وسفيان بن عيينة ، وحماد بن سلمة ، قالوا: حدثنا عطاء بن السائب ، عن ابيه ، عن عبد الله بن عمرو ، قال: جاء رجل، فقال: يا رسول الله، إني اريد ان ابايعك على الهجرة، وتركت ابوي يبكيان، فقال:" ارجع إليهما، فاضحكهما كما ابكيتهما" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came and said: O Messenger of Allah! I want to pledge allegiance to you for migration. I have left my parents weeping. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Go back to them and make them laugh just as you made them weep.
