باب صلة الرحم وقطعها - ذكر البيان بأن قوله صلى الله عليه وسلم الرحم شجنة من الرحمن أراد أنها مشتقة من اسم الرحمن
Chapter on Ties of Kinship and Severing Them – The Prophet’s saying“the womb is derived from the Merciful”means it is named after Him.
Hadith Number: 443
اخبرنا اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا حبان ، قال: اخبرنا عبد الله ، قال: اخبرنا معمر ، عن الزهري ، عن ابي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن ، عن رداد الليثي ، عن عبد الرحمن بن عوف ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: قال الله تبارك وتعالى: انا الرحمن خلقت الرحم، وشققت لها اسما من اسمي، فمن وصلها، وصلته ومن قطعها، بتته" .
Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says: "I am the Most Merciful (Rahman), I created the womb (rahm) and derived its name from My Name. Whoever joins it, I will join with him, and whoever severs it, I will cut him off."
