باب صلة الرحم وقطعها - ذكر وصية المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم بصلة الرحم وإن قطعت
Chapter on Ties of Kinship and Severing Them – The Prophet’s advice to maintain family ties even if they are severed.
Hadith Number: 449
اخبرنا الحسن بن إسحاق الاصبهاني بالكرخ، قال: حدثنا إسماعيل بن يزيد القطان ، قال: حدثنا ابو داود ، عن الاسود بن شيبان ، عن محمد بن واسع ، عن عبد الله بن الصامت ، عن ابي ذر ، قال: اوصاني خليلي صلى الله عليه وسلم، بخصال من الخير: اوصاني " بان لا انظر إلى من هو فوقي، وان انظر إلى من هو دوني، واوصاني بحب المساكين والدنو منهم، واوصاني ان اصل رحمي وإن ادبرت، واوصاني ان لا اخاف في الله لومة لائم، واوصاني ان اقول الحق وإن كان مرا، واوصاني ان اكثر من قول لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله، فإنها كنز من كنوز الجنة" .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: My beloved friend (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised me with some words of goodness. He advised me that I should not look towards someone above me, but rather look towards someone below me. He advised me to love the poor and to stay close to them. He advised me to maintain ties of kinship even if they turn away from me. He advised me not to fear the blame of any blamer regarding Allah. He advised me to speak the truth even if it is bitter. And he advised me to frequently recite "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah," for it is one of the treasures of Paradise.
