باب حسن الخلق - ذكر البيان بأن الكلام الطيب للمسلم يقوم مقام البذل لماله عند عدمه
Chapter on Good Character – Kind words to a Muslim are like giving wealth when one has none.
Hadith Number: 473
اخبرنا ابو خليفة ، حدثنا حفص بن عمر الحوضي ، عن شعبة ، عن محل بن خليفة ، عن عدي بن حاتم ، قال:، قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " اتقوا النار ولو بشق تمرة، فإن لم تجدوا فبكلمة طيبة" .
Sayyiduna ‘Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Save yourselves from the Fire, even if it is by giving half a date (in charity), and if you do not find that, then (save yourselves) through a good word.”
