Chapter on Gentleness – The Prophet’s prayer for those who are gentle with Muslims and his prayer against those who are harsh
Hadith Number: 553
اخبرنا محمد بن الحسن بن قتيبة ، قال: حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى ، قال: حدثنا ابن وهب ، قال: حدثني حرملة بن عمران ، عن عبد الرحمن بن شماسة ، قال: اتيت عائشة اسالها عن شيء، فقالت: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول في بيتي هذا: " اللهم من ولي من امر امتي شيئا فشق عليهم، فاشقق عليه، ومن ولي من امر امتي شيئا، فرفق بهم فارفق به" .
Abdur Rahman bin Shumasa narrates: I went to Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) to ask for something, so Lady Aisha informed me: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say this in this house: "O Allah! Whoever is made responsible for any affair of my Ummah and deals harshly with them, then be harsh with him, and whoever is made responsible for any affair of my Ummah and deals gently with them, then be gentle with him."
