باب الصحبة والمجالسة - ذكر البيان بأن محبة المرء الصالحين وإن كان مقصرا في اللحوق بأعمالهم يبلغه في الجنة أن يكون معهم
Chapter on Companionship and Sitting – Clarification that loving the righteous, even if one falls short in deeds, will allow one to be with them in Paradise
Hadith Number: 556
اخبرنا احمد بن علي بن المثنى ، قال: حدثنا شيبان بن ابي شيبة ، قال: حدثنا سليمان بن المغيرة ، قال: حدثنا حميد بن هلال ، عن عبد الله بن الصامت ، عن ابي ذر انه قال: يا رسول الله الرجل يحب القوم ولا يستطيع ان يعمل كعملهم؟ قال: " إنك يا ابا ذر مع من احببت"، قال: فإني احب الله ورسوله، قال:" انت يا ابا ذر مع من احببت" .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He said, "O Messenger of Allah! A person loves a certain people, but he is not able to act like them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Abu Dharr! You will be with those whom you love." Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Abu Dharr! You will be with those whom you love."
