Chapter on Seclusion – Clarification that seclusion in worship is next in virtue after striving in Allah’s cause
Hadith Number: 605
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد بن سلم ، حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى ، اخبرنا ابن وهب ، اخبرني عمرو بن الحارث ، ان بكيرا ، حدثه عن عطاء بن يسار ، عن ابن عباس ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم انه قال: " الا اخبركم بخير الناس؟ إن خير الناس رجل يمسك بعنان فرسه في سبيل الله، واخبركم بالذي يتلوه؟ رجل معتزل في غنمه، يؤدي حق الله فيها، واخبركم بشر الناس، رجل يسال بالله ولا يعطي به" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I tell you about the best person? The best person is the one who, holding the reins of his horse in the way of Allah, (goes out for jihad). Shall I tell you about the one after him? He is the person who lives apart among his goats and fulfills Allah's right (i.e., zakat) regarding them. And shall I tell you about the worst person? He is the one who, when asked in the name of Allah, does not give."
