Chapter on the Sunnahs of Ablution - Recommendation to run fingers through the beard during ablution
Hadith Number: 1081
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة ، قال: حدثنا ابن نمير ، قال: حدثنا إسرائيل ، عن عامر بن شقيق ، عن ابي وائل ، قال: رايت عثمان رضوان الله عليه توضا فخلل لحيته ثلاثا، وقال:" هكذا رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فعله" .
Abu Wa'il narrates: I saw Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) performing ablution; he passed his fingers through his beard three times, then stated this: I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) doing it in the same manner.
