Chapter on Ghusl – Clarification that a menstruating woman is instructed to follow up ghusl with a perfumed cloth only
Hadith Number: 1200
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، حدثنا حميد بن مسعدة ، حدثنا الفضيل بن سليمان ، حدثنا منصور بن عبد الرحمن ، خبرتني امي ، انها سمعت عائشة ، تقول: إن امراة سالت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، عن الحيض كيف تغتسل منه؟ قال: " تاخذي فرصة ممسكة، فتتوضئين بها". قالت: كيف اتوضا بها؟ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" توضئين بها". قالت: كيف اتوضا بها؟ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" توضئين بها". قالت عائشة: فعرفت الذي يريد، فجبذتها إلي، فعلمتها .
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: A woman asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about menstruation, how she should perform ghusl (ritual bath) after it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Take a piece of cotton with musk on it and purify yourself with it. She asked: How should I purify myself with it? The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: Purify yourself with it. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I understood what the Prophet (peace be upon him) meant, so I pulled the woman towards me and explained the method to her.
