Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Whenever the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) met any of his companions, he would pass his hand over him and supplicate for mercy for him. The narrator states: One day I saw him in the morning, so I moved away from coming before him. Then, after the day had advanced, I presented myself before him. He said: I saw you; you moved away from before me. I said: At that time I was in a state of janabah (major ritual impurity). I feared that you might touch me. So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A Muslim is never impure.
