باب مواقيت الصلاة - ذكر الخبر المدحض قول من زعم أن صلاة العصر يجب أن يعصر بها
Prayer times: Refuting those who claim Asr must be prayed late
Hadith Number: 1520
اخبرنا ابن سلم ، قال: حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى ، قال: حدثنا ابن وهب ، قال: اخبرني عمرو بن الحارث ، عن ابن شهاب ، عن انس بن مالك : ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان " يصلي صلاة العصر والشمس مرتفعة حية، فيذهب الذاهب إلى العوالي فياتي العوالي والشمس مرتفعة" .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform the Asr prayer while the sun was still high and bright. Then a person would go towards "Awali," he would reach "Awali" and the sun would still be high.
