باب مواقيت الصلاة - ذكر الزجر عن أن تسمى صلاة العشاء الآخرة العتمة
Chapter on Prayer Times - Prohibition of calling the night prayer "al-Atamah."
Hadith Number: 1541
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن خلاد الباهلي ، قال: حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد ، قال: حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثني ابن ابي لبيد ، عن ابي سلمة ، عن ابن عمر ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " لا تغلبنكم الاعراب على اسم صلاتكم العشاء، يسمونها العتمة لإعتام الإبل" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): "Do not let the Bedouins overpower you regarding the name of the Isha prayer; they call it 'Atamah', because they delay it due to (taking care of) their camels."
