Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – Clarification that recitation in Maghrib is not restricted
Hadith Number: 1835
اخبرنا محمد بن احمد بن ابي عون ، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن حريث ، قال: حدثنا ابو معاوية ، عن عبيد الله بن عمر ، عن نافع ، عن ابن عمر ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " قرا بهم في المغرب ب الذين كفروا وصدوا عن سبيل الله سورة النساء آية 167" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was leading those people in the Maghrib prayer, and he recited this verse: "Those who disbelieved and hindered (others) from the way of Allah" (that is, he recited Surah Muhammad).
