باب فرض الجماعة والأعذار التي تبيح تركها - ذكر الخبر المدحض قول من زعم أن العلة في هؤلاء الذين أراد المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يفعل بهم ما وصفنا لم يكن للتخلف عن حضور العشاء
Chapter on the Obligation of Congregation and Excuses Permitting Its Omission - Report refuting those who claim the reason was not absence from Isha
Hadith Number: 2097
اخبرنا ابو عروبة بحران، حدثنا بشر بن خالد ، حدثنا محمد بن جعفر ، عن شعبة ، عن سليمان ، عن ذكوان ، عن ابي هريرة ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:" لقد هممت ان آمر رجلا يصلي بالناس، ثم آتي اقواما يخلفون عنها فاحرق عليهم" يعني الصلاتين العشاء والغداة .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "I intended to order someone to lead the people in prayer, then I would go to those people who did not join the congregational prayer. I would burn their houses down." (The narrator says: meaning those who did not join the 'Isha and Fajr prayers.)
