Chapter on the Obligation to Follow the Imam - Permission for the imam to lead people in an open area without a wall
Hadith Number: 2151
اخبرنا عمر بن سعيد بن سنان ، قال: اخبرنا احمد بن ابي بكر ، عن مالك ، عن ابن شهاب ، عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله ، عن ابن عباس ،، انه قال:" اقبلت راكبا على اتان، وانا يومئذ قد ناهزت الاحتلام، ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي بالناس بمنى، فمررت بين يدي بعض الصف، فنزلت، وارسلت الاتان ترتع، ودخلت في الصف، ولم ينكر ذلك علي" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I came riding on a donkey. At that time, I was near the age of puberty. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was leading the people in prayer at Mina. I passed in front of part of a row, then I dismounted and let the donkey graze, and I joined the row myself. No one objected to my (action).
