Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – Permissibility to Pray in a Single Lower Garment if No Other Clothes Are Available
Hadith Number: 2301
اخبرنا ابن خزيمة ، قال: حدثنا ابو قدامة عبيد الله بن سعيد ، قال: حدثنا يحيى القطان ، عن سفيان ، قال: حدثني ابو حازم ، عن سهل بن سعد ، قال: كان رجال يصلون مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عاقدي ازرهم على اعناقهم كهيئة الصبيان، فيقال للنساء: " لا ترفعن رؤوسكن حتى يستوي الرجال" .
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: People used to perform prayer behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). They would tie their lower garments around their necks like children. So the women were instructed: Do not raise your heads (from prostration) until the men have sat up straight.
