Section on Witr prayer – mentioning the prohibition of performing Witr as three consecutive rak’ahs without separation
Hadith Number: 2429
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا حرملة ، حدثنا ابن وهب ، قال: حدثني سليمان بن بلال ، عن صالح بن كيسان ، عن عبد الله بن الفضل ، عن ابي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن ، وعبد الرحمن الاعرج ، عن ابي هريرة ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، انه قال: " لا توتروا بثلاث، اوتروا بخمس، او بسبع، ولا تشبهوا بصلاة المغرب" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Do not perform three rak‘ahs of Witr, perform five or seven, and do not resemble the Maghrib prayer."
