Section on voluntary prayers – mentioning the recommendation to perform the two rak’ahs of Fajr at the beginning of dawn
Hadith Number: 2462
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمود بن سليمان السعدي ، بمرو، قال: حدثنا ابن ابي عمر العدني ، قال: حدثنا سفيان ، عن عمرو بن دينار ، عن ابن شهاب ، عن سالم ، عن ابيه ، عن حفصة " ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يصلي ركعتي الفجر إذا اضاء الفجر" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this statement from Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her): The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform the two rak'ahs (Sunnah) of Fajr after the true dawn had appeared.
