باب النوافل - ذكر ما يستحب للمرء أن يخفف ركعتي الفجر إذا أرادهما
Section on voluntary prayers – mentioning the recommendation to shorten the two rak’ahs before Fajr if one intends them
Hadith Number: 2465
اخبرنا عمران بن موسى ، قال: حدثنا عثمان بن ابي شيبة ، قال: حدثنا ابو خالد الاحمر ، ويزيد بن هارون ، عن يحيى بن سعيد ، عن محمد بن عبد الرحمن ، عن عمرة ، عن عائشة ، قالت:" كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا صلى ركعتي الفجر خففهما حتى يقع في نفسي انه لم يقرا بفاتحة الكتاب" .
Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would perform the two rak'ahs of Sunnah before Fajr, he would recite them briefly to the extent that I would think perhaps he did not even recite Surah Al-Fatihah.
