Section on voluntary prayers – mentioning the recommendation to shorten the two rak’ahs before Fajr when performing them
Hadith Number: 2466
اخبرنا ابو عروبة ، قال: حدثنا يحيى بن حكيم ، قال: عبد الوهاب ، قال: سمعت يحيى بن سعيد ، قال: حدثني محمد بن عبد الرحمن ،، انه سمع عمرة ، تحدث، عن عائشة ، قالت:" كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ليصلي ركعتي الفجر فيخففهما حتى إني لاقول: هل قرا فيهما بام القرآن؟" .
Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to perform the two Sunnah rak'ahs of Fajr so briefly that I would wonder whether he had recited Surah Al-Fatihah in them.
