Section on prayer on a riding animal – mentioning the description of voluntary prayer on one’s mount
Hadith Number: 2524
اخبرنا محمد بن احمد بن ابي عون ، قال: حدثنا احمد بن إبراهيم الدورقي ، قال: حدثنا حجاج ، عن ابن جريج ، قال: اخبرني ابو الزبير ، عن جابر قال:" رايت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي وهو على راحلته النوافل في كل وجه، ولكنه يخفض السجدتين من الركعة يومئ إيماء" .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performing voluntary prayers on his mount, regardless of which direction it was facing, and he was making gestures for bowing and prostration, and he would bend lower in prostration than in bowing.
