Section on Women’s Travel - A fourth narration indicating that the prohibition with this number is not to permit less than that
Hadith Number: 2726
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد الازدي ، قال: حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم ، قال: اخبرنا عثمان بن عمر ، قال: حدثنا ابن ابي ذئب ، عن سعيد بن ابي سعيد ، عن ابيه ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " لا يحل لامراة تؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر ان تسافر يوما واحدا ليس معها ذو محرم" ، قال ابو حاتم: سمع هذا الخبر سعيد المقبري، عن ابي هريرة، وسمعه من ابيه، عن ابي هريرة، فالطريقان جميعا محفوظان.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "It is not permissible for any woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel for a day’s journey without a mahram accompanying her." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Sa'id al-Maqburi heard this narration from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he also heard it from his father on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), so both chains are preserved.
