Eid Prayers - Clarification that the sermon on Eid should be after the prayer, not before
Hadith Number: 2824
اخبرنا ابو خليفة ، قال: حدثنا ابو الوليد ، وابن كثير ، عن شعبة ، عن ايوب ، قال: سمعت عطاء يحدث، عن ابن عباس ، قال: اشهد على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم او قال عطاء: اشهد على ابن عباس:" ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم خرج يوم فطر في اصحابه، فصلى، ثم خطب، ثم اتى النساء فامرهن بالصدقة، فجعلن يلقين" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I bear witness regarding the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that he went out with his companions on the day of Eid al-Fitr. He performed the prayer, then delivered the sermon, then he went to the women and instructed them to give charity, so they began to give charity.
