Rain Prayer - Recommendation for the imam to turn his cloak during the rain prayer sermon
Hadith Number: 2866
اخبرنا ابن قتيبة ، قال: حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى ، قال: حدثنا ابن وهب ، قال: اخبرنا يونس ، عن ابن شهاب ، قال: اخبرني عباد بن تميم المازني ، انه سمع عمه ، وكان من اصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " خرج رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يوما يستسقي، فحول إلى الناس ظهره، واستقبل القبلة وحول رداءه وصلى ركعتين" .
Ubad bin Tamim narrates: He heard his uncle, who is a companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him), narrate: One day the Prophet (peace be upon him) went out to perform the prayer for rain (Salat al-Istisqa), and he turned his back to the people and faced the Qiblah, then he turned his cloak inside out and performed two rak'ahs.
