Section on shrouding – A narration that may mislead some into thinking shrouding in two garments is Sunnah
Hadith Number: 3035
اخبرنا حامد بن محمد بن شعيب ، حدثنا سريج بن يونس ، حدثنا ابو إسماعيل المؤدب ، عن يعقوب بن عطاء ، عن ابيه ، عن ابن عباس ، عن الفضل بن العباس " ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كفن في ثوبين سحوليين" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from Sayyiduna Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was shrouded in two "Sahouli" garments.
