Section on carrying the bier and its statements – Instruction to hasten with the funeral procession for a known reason
Hadith Number: 3042
اخبرنا حامد بن محمد بن شعيب ، قال: حدثنا سريج بن يونس ، قال: حدثنا سفيان ، عن الزهري ، عن سعيد بن المسيب ، عن ابي هريرة ، يبلغ به النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " اسرعوا بجنائزكم، فإن تك خيرا تقدمونها إليه، وإن تك شرا تضعونها عن رقابكم" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He learned of this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Take your funerals quickly (to the graveyard), for if the deceased was righteous, you are taking him towards goodness, and if he was evil, then you are removing that evil from your necks."
