Section on the state of the dead in the grave – Refuting those who claim the whole body decays after death
Hadith Number: 3139
اخبرنا ابن قتيبة ، حدثنا ابن ابي السري ، حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، اخبرنا معمر ، عن همام بن منبه ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: وقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " في الإنسان عظم لا تاكله الارض ابدا، منه يركب يوم القيامة"، قالوا: واي عظم هو يا رسول الله؟ قال:" عجب الذنب" .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is a specific part of a bone in the human body which the earth never consumes; from it, he will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment." The people asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Which bone is that? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A specific part of the backbone."
