Chapter on prayer inside the Kaaba – Description of the Prophet’s standing between the pillars during prayer
Hadith Number: 3204
اخبرنا عمر بن سعيد بن سنان ، قال: اخبرنا احمد بن ابي بكر ، عن مالك ، عن نافع ، عن ابن عمر ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم دخل الكعبة هو واسامة بن زيد، وعثمان بن طلحة، وبلال بن رباح معه، فاغلقها عليه ومكث فيها، قال ابن عمر: فسالت بلالا حين خرج، اين صلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم؟ قال:" جعل عمودا عن يساره، وعمودين عن يمينه، وثلاثة اعمدة وراءه"، وكان البيت يومئذ على ستة اعمدة .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid, Sayyiduna Uthman bin Talha (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) entered the Ka'bah, and they closed the door and stayed inside. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came out, I asked Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him): Where did the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) perform the prayer? He replied: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) placed one pillar to his left, two pillars to his right, and three pillars behind him. (The narrator states:) In those days, there were six pillars inside the Ka'bah.
