Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ordered the giving of one sa’ of dates or one sa’ of barley as zakat al-fitr on behalf of every Muslim, young or old, free or slave. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: After that, people considered two mudd of wheat to be equivalent to it.
