Voluntary Charity – Clarifying That the Best Charity for a Muslim is Providing Water
Hadith Number: 3348
اخبرنا محمد بن إسحاق بن خزيمة ، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن حريث ، قال: حدثنا وكيع ، عن هشام ، عن قتادة ، عن سعيد بن المسيب ، عن سعد بن عبادة ، قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، اي الصدقة افضل؟ قال صلى الله عليه وسلم:" سقي الماء" .
Sayyiduna Sa’d bin ‘Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked,“O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Which charity is the most virtuous?”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Providing water to drink.”
