Virtues of Mecca - Ibn Khatal was killed that day by the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) command
Hadith Number: 3721
اخبرنا سعيد بن عبد العزيز الحلبي بدمشق، قال: حدثنا عبد السلام بن إسماعيل الدمشقي ، قال: حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم ، قال: حدثنا مالك بن انس ، عن الزهري ، عن انس ، قال: دخل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مكة يوم الفتح، وعلى راسه المغفر، وإنهم، قالوا: يا رسول الله، ابن خطل متعلق باستار الكعبة؟، فقال:" اقتلوه"، فقتل .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah with a helmet on his blessed head. The people said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Ibn Khatal is hiding in the curtains of the Ka'bah. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Kill him. So he was killed.
