Shaving and Sacrifice – On the Prophet’s Prayer for Forgiveness for Those Who Shaved More Than for Those Who Shortened
Hadith Number: 3880
اخبرنا الحسين بن إدريس الانصاري ، قال: اخبرنا احمد بن ابي بكر ، عن مالك ، عن نافع ، عن ابن عمر ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " اللهم ارحم المحلقين"، قالوا: والمقصرين يا رسول الله؟، قال:" اللهم ارحم المحلقين"، قالوا: والمقصرين يا رسول الله؟، قال:" والمقصرين" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated,“O Allah! Have mercy on those who shave their heads.”The people said,“O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! (Pray for mercy) for those who trim their hair as well.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated,“O Allah! Have mercy on those who shave their heads.”The people said,“O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! (Pray for mercy) for those who trim their hair as well.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“And (have mercy) on those who trim their hair (as well).”
