Chapter on Expiation – On the Amount of Food to Be Given to Each Poor Person in the Expiation

اخبرنا محمد بن إسحاق بن خزيمة ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن بشار ، قال: حدثنا عبد الوهاب الثقفي ، قال: حدثنا خالد ، عن ابي قلابة ، عن عبد الرحمن بن ابي ليلى ، عن كعب بن عجرة ، قال: اتى على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم زمن الحديبية، وانا كثير الشعر، فقال: " كان هوام راسك تؤذيك؟"، فقلت: اجل، قال:" فاحلقه، واذبح شاة نسيكة، او صم ثلاثة ايام، او تصدق بثلاثة آصع تمر بين ستة مساكين" .
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin 'Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me; my hair was very long. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Are the lice of your head troubling you? I replied: Yes. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then shave it and offer a sacrifice of a goat, or fast for three days, or give three sa' of dates in charity to six needy people.
