Book of Marriage
- باب نكاح الكفار - ذكر البيان بأن الذميين إذا أسلما يجب أن يقرا على نكاحهما
Chapter: Marrying non-Muslims – Clarifying that if dhimmis embrace Islam, their marriage remains valid
Hadith Number: 4159
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، حدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة ، حدثنا وكيع ، عن إسرائيل ، عن سماك ، عن عكرمة ، عن ابن عباس ، ان امراة اسلمت على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فجاء زوجها، فقال:" يا رسول الله، إنها قد كانت اسلمت معي، فردها عليه" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: During the blessed time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), a woman accepted Islam. Then her husband came and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! This woman has accepted Islam along with me. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) returned the woman to that man.
