Chapter: Marrying non-Muslims – Another narration confirming our view
Hadith Number: 4158
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد الازدي ، قال: اخبرنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم ، قال: اخبرنا عيسى بن يونس ، عن معمر ، عن الزهري ، عن سالم ، عن ابيه ، قال: اسلم غيلان بن سلمة الثقفي وعنده عشر نسوة، فامره رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" ان يتخير منهن اربعا، ويترك سائرهن" .
Salim narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both): When Sayyiduna Ghailan bin Thaqafi, may Allah be pleased with him, accepted Islam, he had ten wives. The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered him to keep four of them and leave the rest.
