Book of Breastfeeding
ذكر الأمر للمرء مفارقة أهله إذا شهدت عنده امرأة عدلة أنها أرضعتهما-
Command to separate from one’s wife if a trustworthy woman testifies to breastfeeding
Hadith Number: 4216
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، قال: حدثنا خلف بن هشام البزار ، قال: حدثنا حماد بن زيد ، عن ايوب ، عن ابن ابي مليكة ، عن عقبة بن الحارث ، قال:" تزوجت ام يحيى بنت ابي إهاب، فدخلت علينا امراة سوداء فذكرت انها ارضعتنا جميعا، فاتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فذكرت ذلك له، فقال:" كيف بها وقد قالت ما قالت؟ دعها عنك" .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I married Umm Yahya bint Abu Wahab. A black woman came to us and mentioned that she had breastfed both of us (husband and wife). I went to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and mentioned this matter. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: What can be done now when this woman has stated this? So you should leave this woman (i.e., your wife).
