Chapter on Umm Walad – Permissibility of selling Umm Walad in necessity
Hadith Number: 4323
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، قال: حدثنا ابو خيثمة ، قال: حدثنا روح بن عبادة ، قال: حدثنا ابن جريج ، قال: اخبرني ابو الزبير ، انه سمع جابر بن عبد الله ، يقول: " كنا نبيع سرارينا امهات الاولاد والنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم حي فينا، فلا يرى بذلك باسا" .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We used to sell the umm walad women from among our captives while the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was alive among us, and he did not see any harm in it.
