Book of Oaths
ذكر الخبر الدال على أن المرء إذا حلف له أخوه المسلم ينبغي أن يصدقه على يمينه وإن علم منه ضده-
Report indicating that if a Muslim brother swears, one should believe him even if knowing otherwise
Hadith Number: 4336
اخبرنا محمد بن الحسن بن قتيبة ، حدثنا ابن ابي السري ، حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، اخبرنا معمر ، عن همام بن منبه ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: وقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " راى عيسى ابن مريم رجلا سرق، فقال عيسى: اسرقت؟ قال: كلا والذي لا إله إلا هو. فقال عيسى: آمنت بالله، وكذبت عيني" .
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jesus son of Mary (peace be upon him) saw a man who had stolen. Jesus (peace be upon him) asked: Did you steal? He replied: No, by Him besides whom there is no deity (I did not steal). So Jesus (peace be upon him) said: I believe in Allah and I declare my eyes to be mistaken."
