Book of Oaths
ذكر نفي الحنث عن من استثنى في يمينه بعد سكتة يسيرة-
No penalty for one who adds an exception to his oath after a brief pause
Hadith Number: 4343
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، والحسين بن إدريس الانصاري ، قالا: حدثنا عبد الغفار بن عبد الله الزبيري ، اخبرنا علي بن مسهر ، عن مسعر ، عن سماك ، عن عكرمة ، عن ابن عباس ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" والله لاغزون قريشا، والله لاغزون قريشا، والله لاغزون قريشا"، ثم سكت، فقال:" إن شاء الله" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah! I will surely fight against the Quraysh. By Allah! I will surely fight against the Quraysh. By Allah! I will surely fight against the Quraysh." Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent for a while, then he said: "If Allah wills."
