Chapter on Caliphate and Leadership - On the recommendation for leaders to show kindness to those expected to embrace faith
Hadith Number: 4501
اخبرنا الفضل بن الحباب ، قال: حدثنا ابو الوليد هشام بن عبد الملك ، قال: حدثنا شعبة ، عن قتادة ، عن انس ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" إن قريشا حديث عهد بجاهلية، فاردت ان اتالفهم". ثم قال لهم:" افيكم احد من غيركم؟" قالوا: ابن اخت لنا. قال: " ابن اخت القوم من انفسهم" .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Quraysh are close to the time of ignorance, so I intended to make them feel at ease." Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: "Is there anyone among you besides yourselves?" The people replied: "We have a nephew." So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A people's nephew is considered part of them."
