Chapter on Racing - On the permissibility of foot races if there is no betting
Hadith Number: 4691
اخبرنا علي بن احمد بن سعيد بهمذان، قال: حدثنا محمد بن عبيد بن عبد الملك الاسدي ، قال: حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة ، عن هشام بن عروة ، عن ابيه ، عن عائشة ، قالت: " سابقني النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فسبقته، فلبثنا حتى إذا ارهقني اللحم سابقني فسبقني، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:" هذه بتلك" .
Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) raced with me and I outran him. After some time, when my body became heavier, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) raced with me again and he outran me. So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is in return for that."
