Chapter on Etiquette of Drinking - Reason the Prophet Breathed into the Vessel Three Times
Hadith Number: 5330
اخبرنا ابن زهير الحافظ بتستر، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن ابي زيد ، قال: حدثنا الحسن بن الحكم بن ابي عزة ، قال: حدثنا شعبة ، عن ابي عصام ، عن انس بن مالك ، قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا شرب يتنفس ثلاث مرات، وقال:" هو اهنا وابرا وامرا" .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) drank something, he would breathe three times (in between). He used to say: This is easier, more convenient, and more satisfying (way).
